Transition Specialist (Administrative)

Start Date: Negotiable
Salary: Competitive wage based on skills and experiences
Benefits:

Type of Employment: Full-time permanent, 12-month (247 day) contract
Job Qualifications: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, special education, guidance and counseling, or a closely related human services field. **Minimum of one year’s experience working in rehabilitation, special education, or a closely related human services field. **Supervisory or administrative experience preferred.
Duties: Follow guidelines developed by the Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Rehabilitation Services to assist high school students with disabilities seek and maintain employment as well as prepare for work and/or training after high school. **Responsible for providing the documentation necessary for students to meet State requirements to participate in the Secondary Transitional Experience Program (STEP). **Supervision of STEP department staff. **Oversee STEP program operation in BHASED and its individual high school districts. **Complete program, report, and budgeting requirements of State contracts.

Job Qualifications: Illinois PEL with LBS 1 with Vocational Education Experience preferred
Duties: Help us build our new program from the ground up! BHASED is starting a new classroom designed for students who are between the ages of 18 and 22 years, who have met their graduation requirements, and who would benefit from additional vocational, life skill, and independence training. The successful teaching candidate will have a passion and vision for helping students with disabilities discover and realize more independence as they transition into adulthood.

Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Start Date: August 2021
Salary/Benefits: Per collective bargaining agreement. Partial Board paid Health Insurance, paid sick, and personal leave.
Type of Employment: Full-time permanent. 180-day contract.
Job Qualifications: Illinois Professional Educator License with Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
Duties: Provide direct services to students who are deaf/hard of hearing, writing IEPs, and providing consultation services to school staff. Develop an individual diagnostic profile and write an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each child receiving itinerant services; Provide professional services to classroom teachers to help them in their relationship with students who are deaf/hard of hearing; Participate in an annual review of the child’s progress and rewrite the IEP; Serve as a resource regarding materials and equipment available for students who are deaf/hard of hearing.

Preschool Screener

Start Date: Immediate
Salary/Benefits: Hourly, not eligible for benefits.
Type of Employment: Part-time, as needed.
Job Qualifications: Experience working with preschool-age children. Capable of lifting 15 lbs. At least 19 years of age. High school diploma/GED. Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

School Psychologist – School Psychology Interns

Substitute Nurse

Job Qualifications: IL PEL with School Nurse Endorsement

Manage a caseload of students for IEP documentation, Medicaid billing, annual vision screenings, and medical care plans. Review medical care plans with pertinent staff, including diabetic, seizure, and student allergies. Maintain CPR training. This assignment provides the opportunity to be a part of a team of building nurses.  We are looking for a nurse who enjoys collaborating with others.
